Network Printer

SETUP NETWORK PRINTER

THREE STEP PROCESS

STEP 1

SHIFT RESET or the settings in the MIO area will not be able to be modified from the printer menu.

Search thru the Menus and find MIO Configuration

Select MIO and then search thru the items until you find the 

Search ITEM:. CFG NETWORK = NO appears.

Change to:   CFG NETWORK = YES appears.

NOTE: The CFG NETWORK = XXX (XXX being YES or NO) is a toggle, not a permanent setting. After changing it to YES, so that the settings can be changed, it will always revert back to NO.

Press ITEM repeatedly until CFG TCP/IP = NO appears.

Change to yes and press select to add asterik next to yes!

BootP= (Yes/No) - Set to yes:

This allows you access to set the ip addresses

ip address for the printer

ip address for the gateway

Subnet mask (Subnet mask (4 bytes). Example: If the subnet mask address is 255.255.255.0, then IP byte 1 = 255, IP byte 2= 255, IP byte 3 = 255, and IP byte 4 = 0)

Press ONLINE or GO to save

Print a self-test page to verify the IP settings.

  STEP 2

In Windows XP

Log on as administrator

Add new computer

Local - No search for plug and play

Select TCP/IP

Enter IP Address ie 192.168.1.100

Do not share unless you have a good reason!

Set as default printer!

Print a test page!

   

STEP 3

log on as user profile and select printer as default
